We topped off 5 weeks visiting friends and family in England with a 5-day tour of Munich. This relatively short flight avoided the dreaded hefty U. K. departure tax

levied on long-haul flights like flying to North America. Instead, we put the $600 CAD we saved towards an Octoberfest fling. Unfortunately, we had both contracted the flu during our travels and it weighed heavily. Despite this damper we managed to mask and mingle with the throngs in the markets and city centre plus enjoy some traditional beers and Octoberfest foods. Prost!
